clunky rich text editor
gsavastano says:
I hate to say it but editing Content using the rich text editor mode is to put it mildy "clunky". It simply behaves badly! It often doesn't respond to format changes - or responds to them in an incorrect way. For example, I select text to change the font to Georgia 12 point...it comes out Courier 10 point...or maybe Georgia 14 point - it's unpredictable. Or I have pre-formatted selected, but it comes out in paragraph mode. Extremely frustrating!
The problem is exacerbated when editing text in the two 3-column tables set up on my humble site. I would expect the text editor to be able to handle a table better.
Obviously I am not a "power user"...but hey, not all of your customers are!
I guess the question or suggestion is, what is being done or what can be done to make adding/editing text easier, especially in a table.

Hi - EditMe uses a customized version of the top open source rich text editor. Unfortunately, building an editor like this to run in a web browser is a giant task. You'll find many of the issues in EditMe's editor in Google Docs and other major software vendors' web applications. The technology is improving as browsers get faster and more developer contribute to the editors, but it is not a perfect science by any means.
This page provides some tips for living with a browser-based editor:
