"Subscribe" to comments
DuffJohnson says:
Please provide a means by which a person may subscribe to a page's comments. I'm thinking, essentially, of a checkbox which, when checked, prompted the user to supply an email address.
This should be available both to those leaving a comment and as an element that site developers can include in their layouts.
When new comments are posted (not edited), the subscribers get the standard change-notice email, as if they had rights to the page, except that the email is generated immediately.

Duff,
Did you know you can get an RSS feed of comments on any page, user, or the whole site? See RSS Feeds.
I realize it's not an email notification, but it's a start.
Cheers,
Matt

Thanks for the reminder. That's a good thing, but RSS isn't everyone's idea of how to be notified of things...
To me, having LOTS of options for email would be a great focus - and very wiki-centric, too. IEmail is pretty much the common-denominator for comms, is it not?
Duff.

I typically think of RSS as more flexible. It can be converted into email via a variety of services (e.g. http://www.feedmyinbox.com/), and many email clients have built in RSS readers. But notification is huge with wikis and offering an email alternative does make sense. Thanks for suggesting it!
