What are "Link Classes"

If you mean the "Class" drop down, this is a list of the CSS classes found in your site's style sheet. You typically wouldn't use these unless you'd added your own CSS classes for links to your style sheet. CSS is a language that formats content for the web - there are many books and online tutorials available about CSS.
