Page Properties

The Properties tab on the editing screen contains the following three fields. These can be specified by any user who can edit the page.

Page Date

The page date field contains an optional fixed date associated with the page. It will default to the current date when a new page is created, and can be used for including pages in date-based navigation. Clicking the Clear button will remove the page date. Pages with no date specified will not be included in date-based navigation. See Include Scripts for more about date-based navigation.

Excerpt

The Excerpt provides a space for a brief text-only description of the page. This value can be displayed in page lists, RSS feeds and META tags. See Include Scripts for a list of scripts that use this field.

Redirect

The Redirect field specifies a page name or complete URL (e.g. http://www.editme.com/Home) that should be displayed instead of the page content. This can be used to redirect an obsolete page to its newer replacement, or to include external links in site navigation.

For example, you can include a link to EditMe's main web site by creating a page with Redirect set to http://www.editme.com and setting the Menu page as its parent.
